DHL Global Forwarding, the air and ocean freight specialist ofDeutsche Post DHL Group, has partnered with Longhorn Vaccines &Diagnostics, an innovative molecular tool, assay and vaccinedevelopment company focused on serving unmet critical needs in bothdeveloped and developing nations, to deliver much-needed Covid-19testing vials to the International Organization for Migration (IOM)in Kenya, Nepal and the Philippines.
Longhorn is donating one million tubes of its PrimeStore®Molecular Transport Medium (MTM) in an effort to increase thesafety and efficacy of Covid-19 testing of refugees and displacedpersons in the three countries. In the face of the unprecedentedglobal health crisis, DHL Global Forwarding has tapped its globalnetwork of experienced LSH logistics specialists to transportnearly 26,000 vials of Longhorn’s PrimeStore®MTM thus far. Thesedeliveries represent a continued commitment to provide a holisticrange of patient-centric solutions and deliver them where they areneeded most – especially during a pandemic.

The pandemic has caused increased challenges in the intricatedeliveries of temperature controlled shipments, including strictercontrols at international borders, the absence of airfreightcapacity, and high demand for medical supplies around the world.For this reason, Longhorn chose DHL Global Forwarding, who thanksto its specialists, worldwide network of terminals, warehouses andoffices, and technological infrastructure, remains able toeffectively maintain supply chains. Despite the strained situationin air and ocean freight, urgently-needed protective equipment,medicine, and SARS-CoV-2 test kits and vials in particular arestill being transported.
